Unsupported video link
You pasted a link and were told to paste a valid public video link instead. That message appears before anything is sent for processing — the link simply did not match a pattern we recognise.
What the message actually means
The downloader checks every link in your browser before contacting the processing server. If the address is not a recognised video URL on a platform we support, it stops there. That is deliberate: it fails instantly instead of making you wait for a request that could never succeed.
The five usual causes
Site we do not support
We work with YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, X (Twitter), Facebook and Reddit. We are not a universal “any website” downloader, and any tool claiming to be one is overpromising.
Not a link to a video
A profile, channel, feed, hashtag or search-results address contains no single video to fetch. Open the individual post first.
Private or login-only post
Private accounts, friends-only posts, stories and anything behind a login are not accessible — by design.
Partial or mangled link
Copying from a chat app can truncate an address or wrap it in extra characters. Paste the full address, starting with https://.
Unrelated shortener redirect
Platform share links (like youtu.be, vm.tiktok.com or redd.it) are fine. Generic third-party shorteners are not resolved.
How to get a link that works
Open the video itself — not the feed — and use the platform’s own Share → Copy link option, or copy the address bar while the post is open. That always produces one of the shapes we accept. The supported sites and link formats page shows the exact patterns, so you can compare yours against it.
If the link looks correct and still fails
Double-check the post is genuinely public by opening it in a private window while logged out. If it loads there and we still reject it, the pattern may be one we do not handle yet — tell us the link and we will look. Otherwise, head back and try another link.
