Three link shapes work
The full permalink (reddit.com/r/…/comments/…), the share link Reddit generates (reddit.com/r/…/s/…), and redd.it short links. The post's own Share button always produces one of them.
Crossposts point elsewhere
A crosspost references somebody else's original post. If one will not resolve, open the original it points to and use that address instead.
Not every post is video
Image posts, galleries, polls and text posts have nothing to download — the usual reason a perfectly valid Reddit link comes back empty.
Some clips are silent at source
A few Reddit videos genuinely have no audio track. If the original plays silently on Reddit, the download will too — that is the source, not the merge.
